Airline Pilots Use Checklists - Why Not Drilling?
Preparation, SAFETY - Over 60 Events
The checklists, much the same as a pilot would use in an airplane prior to undertaking flight, are customized for over sixty events such as tripping pipe, running casing, cementing, logging, bit selection, etc. The checklists also consider safety and avoidance issues such as well control, stuck pipe, and other events commonly resulting in non-productive time.
The checklists are designed for quick reference, and simplicity of use. They can be used to facilitate tool box safety meetings, and manage team involvement in all phases of operations.
One Client's comments: ”These checklists have
been an overnight success, and have become company culture in less
than a year’s
time... and invaluable to our drilling supervisors to ensure safe
and efficient performance”
